Project Description:
A stop valve is a type of valve used to control the flow of a fluid, typically in a pipeline. It is designed to completely shut off the flow when in the closed position. Stop valves are commonly used in plumbing, heating systems, and various industrial applications.
The basic design of a stop valve includes a movable disc or plug that can be positioned to either allow or block the flow of fluid. When the valve is fully open, the fluid can pass through freely, and when it is fully closed, the flow is stopped.
Stop valves are crucial for isolating sections of a pipeline for maintenance or repair purposes. They are also used to regulate and control the flow of fluids within a system.
